Voiceover: Vangie - “Death lives in this great house on Maljardin, striking as swiftly as a bolt of lightning. Legend says it is caused by the evil of this man, 300 years dead. But others believe it is something more, like the Reverend Matt Dawson.”
At the séance table, the Reverend worries that Holly might be dead. He says murder is a tradition on Maljardin, mentioning that Holly was poisoned by the wine given to her. Vangie accuses Mrs. Marshall of putting the poison in the glass, but the Reverend says that Raxl fills the decanter. The decanter is given to Alison to analyze. Mrs. Marshall comes down and says that Holly is alive, but just barely. She worries what “they” will do to the rest of them. In his room, Jean Paul wonders what the rabbit is – a creature that cannot exist on the island, but does. Raxl brings tea in to Jean Paul, responding that the rabbit is evil. She asks Jean Paul if he wishes her to taste the tea before he drinks it. Downstairs, Mrs. Marshall wonders how they all can protect themselves now. Vangie believes that the presence she felt was an angry spirit that moved from her to Holly. Mrs. Marshal is not convinced. She believes it was Raxl. At that moment, Raxl appears and tells Vangie that Jean Paul wants to see her. Mrs. Marshall takes the opportunity to tell Vangie that Raxl has the look of hate. Vangie agrees that hate and anger are in the house, but insists that they were brought by the locket. In the crypt, Raxl tells Quito that no one will believe the real truth- that there is spiritual evil on Maljardin, brought by the rabbit. She worries that the devil’s evil is in all of them and must be destroyed. Meanwhile, Vangie brings the locket to Jean Paul. He makes sure it is real – the same locket he put on Erica before she was sealed in the capsule. Jean Paul says he must find out why the locket is there by contacting Erica, but without the locket. He asks Vangie to do a séance, but Vangie refuses, saying that the evil spirit that came in with the rabbit is here and can posses anyone. Jean Paul insists that he must know if he is losing his mind. Vangie enters the main hall and tells the Reverend and Mrs. Marshall that she has refused to do another séance and will not entertain the invading spirit again. Mrs. Marshall wonders if there is some way they can make Jean Paul see clearly. Upstairs, Jean Paul wonders if the real locket is still in the capsule. He questions whether the capsule should be opened. He looks at the rabbit and wonders who or what it is. It is good or evil? He wonders if the rabbit would die if he fed it poisonous leaves from the island. He determines he can find the answers if the capsule is opened and the locket is there or not. In the crypt, Raxl tells Quito it is given to her to destroy the evil on Maljardin, not Erica. She commands Quito to obey her orders and she will find and destroy the evil. Meanwhile, the Reverend knocks on Jean Paul’s door, telling him that everyone is worried about him. Jean Paul lets him in. The Reverend tells Jean Paul that they are afraid of everything in the house. Jean Paul asks if he is the cause of their fear, and then asks the Reverend if he (Jean Paul) is responsible for all of the events happening. The Reverend asks him back - is he responsible? Jean Paul suspects people are trying to convince him that he is not in his right mind. He realizes that the danger is not to the cryo capsule, but to him, from the others. He warns the Reverend that he will not get away with it. Meanwhile, In Quito’s room, Raxl and Quito renew the search for the doll and pin. The Reverend is upset by the accusation that there is a plot against Jean Paul. Jean Paul says it might be possible that Dan took the locket from the capsule during the time he discovered the breakdown of the cryonics equipment. The Reverend questions why Dan would do such a thing.  Jean Paul suggests it could have been done to drive him mad. Jean Paul wonders where the blood on the locket might have come from, as the rabbit had no obvious wounds. Jean Paul tries, but he cannot  remember if there was blood on Erica or not. Raxl and Quito continue the search for the conjure doll and pin in the temple. Meanwhile, the Reverend tells Mrs. Marshall and Vangie about Jean Paul's confusion and mood changes. Vangie is worried that if Jean Paul is not in control there is no hope for any of them. The Reverend wonders if Jean Paul is worried that he himself killed Erica and whether he will open the capsule to find out. In the temple, Raxl prays to ask if Holly should die for assisting the evil. She hears, and agrees it is right for Holly to die, along with the evil. In the main hall, Jacques tells Jean Paul that he cannot open the capsule - he must honor their original bargain. He tells Jean Paul, that opening the capsule will not reveal anything except whether or not the cryonics equipment works. Ignoring this, Jean Paul heads to the crypt. Down in the crypt, Raxl tells Jean Paul that the only thing he must give Erica is death. He must give her eternal peace, opening the capsule if need be, but warns him that madness is to come whether he opens the capsule or not.    |
