Quito helps the cryonics people bring the capsule downstairs to the crypt.  Dr. Patton and Jean Paul discuss bringing Erica back.  Jacques speaks with Jean Paul, sarcastically thanking him for freeing him.  He possesses him and Jacques/Jean Paul orders lunch and wine for all.  Dr. Patton explains the purpose of cryonics (to preserve the body until medical science can find a cure.)  Jacques turns the conversation to reincarnation and the doctor leaves to prepare the body. Raxl enters and informs Jean Paul that Alison and Dan Forrest are on the mainland.  Jean Paul says he might not tell Alison of Erica’s death.  At the café, Dan tells Alison there is a delay in getting the boat to the island.  Worried about Erica, Alison vows to bring her back to civilization for care. Later, Raxl finds Jean Paul asleep on the couch.   He seems concerned as to where the cryonics people are, acting as if he does not know they are there.  Realizing that they are on the island, Jean Paul races to the crypt. Unfortunately, he reaches the crypt too late to see Erica put in suspension.  Dr. Patton expresses his sympathies to Jean Paul and leaves.  Raxl begs Jean Paul to leave the island because of evil spirits, but he refuses to leave without Erica.   Jacques again speaks to Jean Paul and tells him he must face Alison.  He possesses him and sets off with Quito for the mainland.  Raxl warns the painting that he has not won yet. Jacques meets Alison and Dan at the café where Dan asks him to sign a paper.  Alison asks about Erica and Jean Paul calmly says that she’s “content” and is “sleeping.” They prepare to leave for the island. Meanwhile, Dan examines the papers signed by Jean Paul and finds that they were signed Jacques.   Jean Paul brings Alison to the island and she presents Jean Paul with Tim’s sketch of Erica.  Jean Paul comments that it’s good and asks where it was done.  Alison is puzzled as Jean Paul was there when it was done.   Back at the café, instead of heading back home, Dan is prepared to stay on for a while to get the proper papers signed and to clear up the mystery of Jacques Eloi DesMondes. On the island,  Jean Paul gives Alison Jacques’s wife’s room to stay in. |
