September 29, 2008 - Independent Press Telegram (Long Beach, CA) 9.27.70
As an adjunct to the archive item from last week, this week's archive item is a sample of the television listings from Long Beach, CA in September, 1970. Initially, the syndication deal for the show allowed for two broadcasts. While most US markets (as well as the CBC) decided not to utilize the second run rights, some markets in California did. As this listing example illustrates, Strange Paradise would be premiering on the 28th on channel 5, KTLA for its second run, whereas previously it had been on KTTV. In this instance, Strange Paradise was given a 3pm timeslot.

September 22, 2008 - Winnipeg Free Press 10.1.77
Although Strange Paradise was only on the air for a year, it did manage to live on in syndication. Beginning in the mid-1970's and lasting right through to the present day, Strange Paradise has been re-run numerous times in both Canada and the United States, as well as in other countries. At right is a brief article mentioning the premiere of Strange Paradise on Monday, October 3, 1977 as part of a new round of syndication.

September 15, 2008 -Behind the Scenes
The photo for this week is another in a series of behind the scenes shots. This particular photo shows an area of the Strange Paradise studios not usually seen. At right can just been seen a small portion of the Desmond Hall set. The two individuals in the photo are Staging Crew Chief John Windsor (left) and boom operator and cable man Chuck Magliore, both of whom are engaged in sorting out some problem on the set.

September 8, 2008 - Episode 49 Changes

As a follow up to the previous archive item, this week's selection is a sample of a detailed three week projection breakdown, one that specifically outlines changes to episode 49. Originally, Dan Forrest was to survive his escape attempt and the black rabbit was to be killed by Raxl. Both of these items were changed before broadcast. The rabbit disappeared, heralding Erica's return, and Dan's escape was delayed until after Erica's appearance, in order that he might be the first to die by her hand.

September 1, 2008 - Short Three Week Summary
This week's archive features a short three week projection of plot summaries for the final episodes of the Maljardin storyline. Following Ian Martin's last script for the show (episode 44), the producers struggled to come up with scripts on short notice and to solve various outstanding plot points, as well as dispose of the extraneous cast before moving the show to a new location. This document outlines the major events that were to close out the Maljardin storyline, including the reappearance of Erica and the deaths of the other players.
